Trapani

Trapani is a city on the western coast of Sicily, known for its crescent-shaped shoreline.

If you’re in Trapani, a visit to its nearby town Erice is a must. This medieval village is perched on a rocky cliff over 750 meters above sea level and offers breathtaking views over Trapani, the Egadi Islands, and San Vito Lo Capo. It’s one of the most scenic viewpoints in all of Sicily.

Along with Levanzo and Marettimo, Favignana is the largest of the three islands forming the Egadi archipelago. It's a must-see during your stay in Trapani and has the most frequent boat connections.

Don’t miss the Salt Road (“Via del Sale”), stretching from Trapani to Marsala through a nature reserve. The sight of salt pans and traditional windmills (used to grind salt) reflected in the water is truly enchanting.

Just a 30-minute drive from Trapani is the Temple of Segesta, while about an hour away you'll find the Temples of Selinunte, both among Sicily’s most important archaeological sites.
