Brescia

Brescia is a city in Lombardy rich in history and culture, often underestimated compared to other Italian cities, but it actually holds truly unique treasures.

It is one of the best-preserved Roman cities in Italy: Brescia was called Brixia in Roman times, and even today you can walk among the ruins of the Capitolium Temple, the Roman Theatre, and the Forum, all part of the UNESCO site "The Lombards in Italy." It is one of the largest urban archaeological parks in northern Italy.

On the Cidneo Hill, Brescia hosts one of Italy’s largest medieval castles, which has housed various armies over the centuries and now offers visitors spectacular panoramic views and two museums: the Museum of Arms and the Museum of the Risorgimento.

Every year, enthusiasts from all over the world gather in Brescia for the famous car race "Mille Miglia," an event that combines sport, design, and automotive tradition.

Finally, we must mention the cuisine: typical dishes like casoncelli, the Brescian spit roast, and polenta taragna tell the story of an authentic rural tradition. Also worth trying are the wines of Franciacorta, Italy’s own "Champagne"!
