Florence Santa Maria Novella Station - 67 km
Florence Amerigo Vespucci Airport - 58 km
Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport - 88 km
Pisa Galileo Galilei Airport - 100 km
Take the A11 motorway towards Pisa or Florence, depending on your point of departure. Exit at “Pistoia” and, at the roundabout, follow the signs for SS66 / Abetone – Modena. Continue on the SS66 for approximately 25 km, following the direction San Marcello Pistoiese / Abetone. Once you reach Limestre, turn following the signs for Dynamo Camp.
Dynamo Camp is located in a natural area in the Tuscan Apennines. Since it is outside the urban center, it is helpful to set Google Maps, Waze, or another navigation system with the full address: Via Ximenes 662, Limestre (PT) 51028. From Pistoia, follow the SS66 towards Abetone and continue towards Limestre, following the local signs. The main entrance to the Camp is clearly marked from the outside. The entrance to the Academy Campus is a secondary entrance and can be reached by entering the following GPS coordinates into Google Maps: 44 02'41.2"N 10 48'36.7"E. Following the coordinates, while driving along the SS66 towards Abetone, you will find the Dynamo Academy totem on your left.

Discover Pistoia

Pistoia is a provincial capital and an ancient episcopal see.
It is located at the northwestern edge of the Florentine plain, at the foot of the Apennine Mountains.
As the northernmost city in Tuscany, it lies nestled beneath the Apennine range, and its territory is bordered by the Brana and Ombrone streams.

Many events are held in Pistoia, but the most important is undoubtedly the Giostra dell’Orso (Joust of the Bear), an ancient medieval tradition that has survived to this day. Originating as a type of equestrian joust between the city’s districts, it takes place every year on July 25th, in honor of the city’s patron saint.

Also worth mentioning is the famous Pistoia Blues Festival, an international blues music event considered among the top five in Europe. Founded in 1980, it is held annually during the second week of July. Over the years, many world-renowned artists have graced the stage in Pistoia — from Frank Zappa and Deep Purple, to Dream Theater, Bob Dylan, Lou Reed, Carlos Santana, Patti Smith, Joss Stone, David Bowie, and many others.

Pistoia strikes a perfect balance between tradition and modernity, with one of the most admired and beloved piazzas in Italy. It is a delightful discovery, offering a more alternative charm compared to Tuscany’s mainstream destinations.

And of course, no visit would be complete without exploring its culinary scene. Pistoian cuisine shares much with classic Tuscan cooking, yet features its own unique twist. You can enjoy it both in the historic center and in the many hidden gems scattered throughout the surrounding area.
